Open 2.0 at BronxNET

Truman High School’s Media program has a very special partnership with the local cable-access television network, BronxNET.  Our students travel to the Lehman College Campus two days each week (Mondays and Wednesdays) from 4pm to 5:30pm to work on an Emmy-nominated, public affairs television show that is BY TEENS, FOR TEENS and ABOUT TEENS.  This unpaid internship experience gives students priceless hands-on experience in a production studio environment.

Students serve in many different positions on the staff including on-camera host, camera operator, floor manager, teleprompter operator, audio engineer, video switcher, graphics designer, director and producer.  Students are encouraged to try several different positions throughout the course of the program.

The topics and stories covered are discussed and determined by the Open 2.0 Staff themselves.  Members of the program have interviewed famous musicians, celebrities, CEOs and even City Council members and the Bronx Borough President!  If you are interested in this exciting and BENEFICIAL internship program, please see Mr. Roush in room 104.  In the meantime, if you plan to join, please download and print out the New Intern Package package here.  Have it filled out and signed by parents/guardians before you arrive for the first day of the program.
