Truman Media is a 4-year specialized academy program available to students at the Harry S Truman High School, in Bronx, NY. Students in this program can spend up to four years learning how human beings communicate in a digital world. That means we spend time learning all aspects of television, radio, print and online media, including social media like Twitter, Blogs, and Video-Blogs.
Our program is rigorous, intense training. Students who spend all four years in the program leave with similar skills to those who graduate from a 4-year college program in video production. Students who join us are expected to have 100% attendance and be passing with a “C” or better in all of their academic courses. Further, they will represent our program both inside and outside the classroom, which means they must adhere to strict guidelines for behavior, dress and respect wherever they go. Being a member of Truman Media is a privilege – and those who have been with us for four years will tell you how it has changed their lives, both academically and personally.
We have a state-of-the-art studio and cutting-edge equipment. Our students intern at various television outlets in New York City, they have been a part of Emmy-nominated broadcasts and they have even taken top prize in video competitions against other prestigious New York City High Schools. At Truman Media, we don’t play. We mean business.
